Our Story
Not a new idea but a proven one, scaled up
From 2022 to 2024, our Saturday Soup Kitchen provided hot meals to approximately 800 vulnerable children every week in Eswatini. It showed us that a reliable meal can do more than provide nourishment. It can create a safe, supportive space where children feel seen and cared for. Now, we’re building on that experience and reaching more children. That track record is the foundation for this expanded project.
Our Vision
We are growing into an annual programme providing a nutritious cooked lunch every Saturday to 1,000 vulnerable children across five Community Care Points. Each meal is carefully planned using locally available foods to provide the nourishment children need to grow, learn, and thrive.

Why it Matters
For vulnerable children, the weekend can mean a gap in access to regular meals. A dependable Saturday lunch helps bridge that gap while providing a safe and supportive community space where children’s wellbeing and dignity remain at the centre.
The Goal
One thousand children. Five Community Care Points. A nutritious lunch every Saturday. Our goal is to provide 52 planned Saturday meals each year, creating approximately 52,000 meal occasions for vulnerable children.

Help Rescue the Child keep the pot full
A gift today helps cover the food, fuel and safe preparation it takes to feed 1,000 children this Saturday, and every Saturday after.
